Cork Racecourse will welcome a stellar lineup of racing and fashion in the coming weeks – all in the name of charity as the Mallow track gears up for its raceday in aid of Marymount University Hospital and Hospice on Saturday, August 17th.
While the horses battle it out for first place on the track, racegoers will be putting their most fashionable foot forward in the best dressed competition as they bid to win one of the coveted prizes on offer from Louis Copeland & Sons, Lennon Courtney and Lee Travel. In order to impress in the fashion stakes, racegoers will be hoping the expert panel of judges like what they see which includes award-winning stylist, author & fashion editor Annmarie O’Connor, Louis Copeland of the renowned brand Louis Copeland & Sons and presenter, broadcaster and fashion designer Brendan Courtney of Lennon Courtney.
Irish powerhouse fashion label Lennon Courtney will sponsor the best dressed lady competition on the day which will see many vying for the fantastic prize. The lucky winner will receive the rare opportunity of a one-on-one styling session with no other than Brendan Courtney, as well as a €200 voucher to spend on Lennon Courtney in Dunnes Stores. Speaking in advance of the raceday, Brendan Courtney said: “I am very excited to be judging on August 17th, as well as styling the winning lady in Lennon Courtney’s new collection! The fashion is always fantastic at racedays and it will definitely be a great day out for a really amazing cause”.
Sponsoring the best dressed man competition is tailor to the stars Louis Copeland & Sons. The winner will receive a made to measure suit from the renowned brand which is soon to open the doors of its first Cork store in the coming weeks. Commenting ahead of the raceday, Louis said:

The most stylish couple on the day will also see their fashion efforts rewarded with a fantastic prize sponsored by award-winning travel agent Lee Travel. All proceeds from August 17th will go directly to Marymount’s specialist community palliative care services. This vital service offers support to people who are living at home with a serious illness in Cork City and County and is completely free of charge, running seven days a week. As a result, Marymount heavily relies on donations to maintain these vital services that their palliative care nurses offer. As well as listed and Group 3 action on the day, there will be fun for all the family including a fantastic line up of music from well-known Cork DJ Stevie G, Chris Kavanagh, Handipack and more.
